  • Descriptive Information about the Record (click to expand)
    Provenance
Deposited by the Vicar and Parochial Church Council in July 1986.
    -
    Introduction
The church was built in 1861 to the designs of the architect Henry Woodyer, largely at his own expense. Woodyer lived at Grafham House. He also provided an endowment of £50 per annum. The church was consecrated 10 Aug 1861.
To this church was assigned on 24 Mar 1863 an ecclesiastical parish taken out of Dunsfold and Bramley. The benefices were united in 1981.
Before the church was built services and baptisms took place (from at least 1855) in a barn. During this period Grafham was a chapel-of-ease to Dunsfold.
Burial records date from 1863 (not deposited).
