HER 11109 - LAGHAM MANOR
Manor House. 16th century refaced in Circa 1620 with 19th century extensions to rear. Timber framed, brick facade on brick and stone plinth, stone coped parapet partially obscuring plain tiled roof. Large offset stack to end left, end stack to right. Two storeys over basement. Seven bays A-A-B-A-B-A-A with plat band over ground floor. Mullioned and transomed casement windows under cambered heads, the third and fifth bays with blocked, arched, niches, fifth bay glazed on ground floor. 17th century stone mullioned basement window to right. Central half glazed camber head door with flat porch hood over. Pentice roofed addition to left end. Double pile to rear right, Victorian addition with weatherboarded 20th century "rustic" porch on wooden supports on right hand return front. Interior: Extensive framing to rear. Ground floor room to left with deep brick and stone fireplace wooden lintel and brace over right hand ground floor room - Tudor style fireplace with twisted vine carving in spandrels. First floor: completely panelled landing and front rooms, 17th century, 18th century and 19th century panelling. Stone fireplace with Jacobean style carving over. 18th century square newel staircase with turned balusters. Listing NGR: TQ3636448055
