HER 11265 - CRULLINGS AND SMALLFIELD PLACE
House, now divided. Circa 1600, altered in 1665, parts demolished in 18th century. Ashlar wealden stone, Horsham slab roof, plain tiles to rear, with 3 diagonal stacks to rear left, 3 stacks to right of centre and stack to right. 2 storeys to left, 3 storeys to right with attic in hipped roof dormer largely obscured by parapet which steps up to right of centre. 3 stone mullioned windows in second floor to right; battlemented angle bay windows rising through two storeys to left end, right of centre and to right, left hand angle bay taller, extending up to parapet height. 5 mullioned transome leaded casements to first floor, those not in angle bays under flat hood mouldings. Planked and studded door in chamfered stone surround with moulded arch above in stone gabled entrance porch to left of centre. Porch gable corbelled with scrolls to ends with square urn finials, flat hood moulding and fluted cornice over dressed stone four centred arched opening. Square cartouche to centre of gable. Ornate lead hoppers to drains between angle bays at right. Wings extending at right angle to rear. Further angle bay on left hand return front.
