HER 12464 - THE DOWER HOUSE
House. Circa 1710 possibly to earlier core; with 19th century and 20th century extensions to rear. Red brick with hipped plain tiled roof, restored in 20th century. Two storeys with end stacks and stacks to rear right of centre. Symmetrical elevation with plat band over ground floor and wooden modillion eaves cornice. Five 12-pane glazing bar sash windows to first floor, four windows on the ground floor under gauged brick heads. First floor windows with inserted wooden canopies. Central door of six panels with flanking ¾ lights under oval gauged brick fanlight. Single storey Doric columned glazed corridor link to brick and tile hung garage block to left of no especial interest. Listing NGR: TQ0182745235
