HER 1262 - Firestone and hearthstone quarry
Entrance to firestone and hearthstone quarry at TQ 301539, possible interconnection between A23 and Quarry Hangers, resistivity survey and bore hole results showed possible extensive series of passages, mostly backfilled and under the M3. Entrance now filled in with possible direct connections to entrances in Ockley Wood (HER 1263) and Quarry Deane (HER 1076). Date of quarry unknown.
