HER 1329 - Enclosure: probably medieval or later, Godstone
Earthwork at South Godstone excavated in 1962 (see also HER 2526). It is a small earthwork, trapezoidal in plan, comprising a single bank and ditch of feeble profile. The earthwork is in fair condition though heavily overgrown and is similar to that south-west of the Ledgers (HER 1195). Although positive dating evidence is lacking the general shape and appearance of the work suggests it is a medieval or later enclosure, probably for stock.
