HER 13382 - CHRIST CHURCH
Church. 1889 by W.F. Unsworth. Red brick plain tiled roofs copper covered spires to east end. 4 bay nave and aisles, north and south transept chapels, apsidal chancel to the east, C2O vestry to the north west. 3 bay narthex to the west end with brick edged roundel above and tile edged gable. South door under arched head with pent roof hood on brackets. Arched planked doors to north and south chapels in 4 step brick surrounds, brick edged roundels above. Spires over south transept Chapel and chancel with iron weathervanes. Interior: Brick arches with projecting brick band to eaves, King post roof. Narrow ambulatory aisles with stone dressed arches. 3 bay arched screen across west end, stone octagonal font in harthex 19th century fittings.
