HER 13686 - Ockley Court, Coles Lane, Ockley
The 18th century house is listed grade II and is situated on the south side of Coles Lane. In the late 19th century the site was bounded to the north and east by Coles Lane, woodland and a meandering stream, Holmswood Gill, provided the boundary to the west, and woodland to the south. The grounds to the south of the mansion was separated from an area of open parkland by a terrace or possibly a ha ha. There were numerous outbuildings and glasshouses to the east of the house. A walled kitchen garden with trees was situated further to the east. Specimen trees decorated the grounds of the west of the house. The layout of the grounds was little changed in 1914 except for the introduction of a pond in the parkland to the south of the mansion
