HER 15242 - Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower,

Scheduled Monument
This was a tower used by the Navy to communicate between the Admiralty in London and Portsmouth Naval Dockyard. Messages taking 15 minutes using this tower. The tower was fully reconstructed in 1989 by Surrey County Council. The area is a scheduled ancient monument.
