HER 1660 - Holy Trinity Church, Guildford
Holy Trinity Church. Rebuilt 1749-63, altered 1888 with 16Th century chapel. The Chantry was founded in this church by Sir Richard Weston Knight in 1540. The original church of Holy Trinity, had a square ended chancel and apsidal side chapels, and a tower with a spire on the south side. The south chapel was the lady chapel and its vaulting survived the fall of the tower. The old church fell down in 1740. The present church was rebuilt between 1749 to 1763, except for the Weston Chapel, which dates to the early 16 century. East end enlarged and rebuilt in 1888.
