HER 197 - Celtic Field System, Leatherhead Downs
A Celtic field system, almost obliterated by ploughing, is visible on the Leatherhead Downs. Aerial photographs reveal disconnected field banks scattered over the whole area. The remains indicate typical Celtic fields laid out on both sides of a field-way which runs South West from the North East corner of the Down.
