HER 3422 - Dapdune Wharf And Boatyard, Wharf Lane, Guildford

Dapdune Wharf. The remains of a boat-building and repair yard of the Wey Navigation, with cottages boat shed, forge and hand operated crane. The last barge to be built was Diligent in 1940. Formerly owned by the Stevens family. The timber wharf and boat building yard adjacent to the Wey Navigation Office are being restored. Features include the blacksmith's shop, steam chest for shaping timber and a recovered Wey barge, the Reliance, which is being rebuilt. The wharf is National Trust property and is Listed Grade II.
