HER 739 - 17th century Byfleet Park Royal Hunting Lodge
Manor House and Byfleet Park Royal Hunting Lodge, built in 1686 incorporating a few details of the previous house built in 1617. Described by Pevsner as, “One of the most attractive late 17th century houses in the county”. The Manor House is now sub-divided into three private residences. The central block is of 1686, but contains a staircase and wood panelling from the earlier house, to which also belong the entrance pillars. The end wings to the house are 19th/20th century additions. A subterranean passage leads from the house toward the River Wey. It is stone lined drain with brick roofing and probably dates to the late 17th century.
