HER 8376 - MERRYWORTH, 139 MANOR ROAD, Ash
House. Early 16th century, restored in 20th century. Timber framed with brick cladding to front, brick infill to exposed end frames; some knapped flint infill to left hand return front. Plain tiled roofs, lower and half- hipped over extension to right end. Two storeys and attic under two 3-light diamond pane, leaded, casement dormers. Rebuilt ridge stack to right of centre. Three framed bays with 20th century leaded casement fenestration, four windows across first floor, three on ground floor under cambered arches. Panelled door to right of centre under pentice roofed hood on wooden supports. Single bay, single storey, extension set back to right end. Left hand return front: jettied first floor on brackets, end bracket to left with carved decoration. Queen-post roof construction visible. Catslide extension across the rear. Parallel service range to rear left. Listing NGR: SU8881450166
