HER 9020 - ELDERSLIE, INCLUDING THE STABLES, Stane Street, Ockley

House. 17th century, extended and altered in 19th century. Red and blue brick, clad in pebbledash with plain tiled roofs. Two storeys and attics to centre and right with multiple stack to front centre. Three gables across centre of front flanked by smaller, steeper pitched, outer gables with wooden eaves board across the base. Four leaded under-eaves attic casements, one to each gable except that to left. 'Cross' windows on the first floor, 6 windows across and one blocked window to right. One 'cross' window to ground floor left, one 4-light window to left of centre, two casements to right of centre. Gabled, rendered, two storey porch to centre over basement with one first floor 'cross' window over 6-panelled door. One single-light window in ground floor return walls. Left hand return front: 19th century extensions to centre gable. Glazing bar sash fenestration with tripartite window in ground floor of gable. Rear: 5 gables across, with three attic windows, lower range to left linking to stables. Six first floor windows including one oriel window. Bow window on ground floor to right with balcony across the first floor, and casement doors. Rear of stables: three windows on ground and first floors, external stair to right approaching casement doors. Former right hand return front: stables to right with 18th century brick. Stone on rear. Plat band over ground floor. Three, 3-light windows on the first floor, two stilted-arched windows to ground floor right. Three windows to ground floor left. Panelled door to right of centre under cambered head over-light and flanking pilaster piers. Half-glazed door to left in angle with old range, under hip-roofed hood on one turned pillar.
