Going Potty: An Introduction to Pottery in Archaeology in Surrey

This informal study day for adults will provide an introduction to the study of pottery in archaeology. The day will consider the importance of pottery in archaeology as well as how it is processed and recorded, and will focus on the many different types and styles of pottery found in Surrey.
You will get the chance to view and handle pottery from the Prehistoric, Roman, Saxon, medieval and post-medieval periods.
This event will be led by Phil Jones, Senior Archaeologist for the Surrey County Archaeological Unit, and will be held at:
