Orangery

A gallery or building in a garden, usually south facing, used for growing oranges and other fruit.

Numerous orangeries in Surrey survive, many of which are Listed Buildings.  For example, an attractive 18th century red brick orangery at Bury Hill House, Dorking is converted into a nursery garden and house, but still retains many of its original architectural features.

Other examples exist at Ockham Park, Wotton House and Great Fosters, Egham.
