To celebrate the handing over of the Paralympics from Beijing to London 2012, a small group from Surrey's Riding for the Disabled (Samber RDA) met at Newlands Corner on 17th September 2008.

Helped by volunteers and well trained ponies a group of youngsters from Cordwalles Junior School, Camberley, had a special ride along the top of the Downs.

When they returned Surrey storyteller Janet Dowling told a tale of the Surrey Hills, the children were presented with certificates and Olympic Teddy Bears and then everyone went for tea at the nearby cafe.
