Bob Godfrey (Roland Frederick)

Bob Godfrey, christened Roland Frederick Godfrey, (1921-2013) was behind Bob Godfrey Films in 1965. His work included producing Roobarb (1970s), and Henry’s Cat in the 1980s. He was Britain’s first oscar winner for animation in 1975 with Great, about the lives and times of Isambaard Brunel.

UCA holds over 420 boxes of the pre-production – post-production material, on deposit from the Godfrey estate. This includes storyboards, correspondence, and animation cels. See the catalogue record here
