Stuart Hilton

Graduating from the Royal College of Art with a distinction, Stuart immediately began directing commercials at Paul Vester’s Speedy Films for clients including Nike, Visa and KFC. After moving to Picasso Pictures and forming the directing partnership FAQ with Ian Cross he has directed numerous ads, titles and idents for such clients as BBC2, Channel 4, Guinness, Orange, Heineken, Ford, Samsung, Adidas, including Guy Ritchie’s ‘Snatch’ title sequence. His commercial work has won him numerous awards including a coveted Silver D&AD. He continues to direct, animate and design with FAQ where recent clients have included Emirates, British Gas, Toyota and EE.

He is the director of award winning animated short films Pendulum, Argument In A Superstore, Save Me and Six weeks in June and continues to work on his own short film projects.

He is a musician and composer having written music for several films by award-winning directors including Robert Bradbrook’s Dead Air and Jonathan Hodgson’s Forest Murmurs.

He has lectured extensively in the UK and abroad since 1992 and is also a regular visiting lecturer at the National Film and Television School. He is currently external examiner at Leeds Metropolitan University and Middlesex University.
