    WHO WENT
    FROM THIS NURSERY AND
    GAVE THEIR LIVES IN
    THE GREAT WAR
    1914-1919

  2. The name of James Daniels on the memorial refers to my Grandfather. His full name was William James Daniels and he was killed in France in August 1915. He worked at Goldsworth Nursery and was a member of Woking Fire Brigade. He served in the Royal West Surreys.

  3. Pat Turner says:

    F. Slyfield, Frederick was my great uncle he joined up with my grandfather Walter, who survived the war. I know very little about Fred. but managed to take a poppy wreath to his grave is France a couple of years ago. I think we were the first members of our family to do this, it was very moving. It was quite emotional to see the Nurser memorial. Thank you
