Transport and Travel

There are many ancient and modern transport routes through and across Surrey. Roman Stane Street, the Pilgrim’s Way, the river Thames, the Wey Navigation, the Basingstoke Canal, the London and South Western Railway, the London to Portsmouth road, the M3 and M25, Heathrow and Gatwick airports – all have allowed goods and people to travel the length and breadth of Surrey, for business and pleasure.
