Watts Gallery: Artist Village

As part of the March of the Women project an audit has been undertaken of the resources held at partner museums.

The suffrage collection features an archive including the diaries of Mary Watts prior to her involvement in the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies, and pieces of her pottery, including statues of Joan of Arc. Items are available to view on request.

Watts Gallery: Artist Village comprises a number of buildings once owned, designed and lived in by the artist George Watts and his wife, Mary. Today the site includes the house where they lived, a chapel designed by Mary, and galleries containing examples of George’s artwork. The site also has contemporary artwork on display.
